2012 miles in 2012

Featured

In 2012 I am running 2,012 miles (equivalent to nearly 77 marathons) to raise money for CLIC Sargent, a charity supporting my cousin’s son Hamish who is fighting rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare form of children’s cancer. Please consider donating, it’s a great cause and every little helps. Thanks to all those who have donated so far. www.awsmithson.com/charity

April!

Featured

As far as miles went it was a disappointing month – the worst of 2012 so far. Not going to dwell on that, planning to work hard on the miles over the next few months to get a good lead on the schedule.

Two things were great in April, donations and the London marathon. Firstly, he marathon was brilliant, great weekend in London catching up with some people and the race itself was great. Atmosphere on the way round exceeded expectations and the crowd carried me (not literally) to a time of 3:08:43 – exactly what I was targeting. The sub-3:10 time qualifies me automatically for next year so looking forward to it already!

Donations were incredible, by my count a total of £1349.80 in April alone – thanks to all those who donated, I’m amazed… http://www.awsmithson.com/charity
